Life Before Dickinson Law:
I spent the entirety of my life prior to moving to Pennsylvania in Durant, Oklahoma, a rural town in Southeastern Oklahoma on the Choctaw Nation Indian Reservation. I have work experiences that ranges from waitressing to private practice civil law. I moved to Pennsylvania with my husband, two dogs and two cats! (Yes, I will show you pictures of my pets.)

A Dickinson Law Favorite:
Hosting and leading my first event with NALSA, Curtilage Comebacks, educational events and discussions outside of class.

Why Dickinson Law?:
My husband and I started the law school journey together, so a lot went into deciding a school that was a good fit for us both. His interests centered around environmental law and criminal law, but I was more of an open book — still am! So, we wanted a school that offered a wide range of opportunities as well as a school that was practical and affordable for having two law students in our household. Penn State Dickinson Law checked all of our boxes!

Favorite Course:
Criminal Law

Advice for Prospective Law Students:
Start thinking about law school early if you can and give yourself time to prepare not only for the LSAT but also to put your best effort forward on your application. Don’t underestimate the essay portions!

Something You Love About Carlisle:
It is so walkable and charming! Carlisle could be the next set of a Hallmark movie.

On Choosing A Law School:
Look at the big picture when applying to law schools. Ask yourselves the important questions: What will be my cost of living? Am I comfortable with that class size? Will I be happy in that area/town? Do they offer the curriculum I need to explore my specific areas of interest?

You’d Never Guess That… :
I once served as juror on a federal murder trial. The trial lasted multiple days and I had to stay in a hotel three hours away from my home.

Favorite Book:
Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese
